Karen M. Cichowski, PhD

Dr. Cichowski is a professor of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She is also a Ludwig Center Investigator and is the founder and director of the Center for Developing Targeted Cancer Therapies at BWH/DFCI. Dr. Cichowski is a renowned expert in Ras-pathway driven cancers, specifically KRAS-, BRAF- PTEN- and NF1-mutant malignancies. The work from her laboratory has provided fundamental insight into the pathogenesis of melanomas, nervous system tumors, prostate and breast cancers and has also served as the basis for multiple clinical trials. She is currently the scientific director of the NF Preclinical Consortium, a collaborative model that brings together foundations, academic scientists, and industrial partners to accelerate clinical translation.
