The African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) have partnered to present a Workshop on Capacity Building for Cancer Research in Africa, from January 17-18, 2017. The Workshop will take place at the Protea Breakwater Lodge in Cape Town, South Africa. It will be followed by the AACR International Conference on New Frontiers in Cancer Research, which will be held from January 18-22, 2017, at The Westin Cape Town.

AORTIC and AACR are dedicated to addressing the needs of basic and clinical researchers on cancer in Africa. To this end, the two organizations have joined efforts to present a workshop designed to facilitate improved expertise, resources, and infrastructure that can lead to impactful investigator-initiated cancer research in Africa.
