July 20 - 27, 2014
Snowmass Village, Colo., USA
Applications are no longer being accepted for this workshop. The application deadline was Monday, March 24.
The Organizing Committee will award positions to 45 applicants who are either in their residency or who have begun their fellowships in any clinical oncology subspecialty. Applicants will be selected on the basis of their answers to the questions on the application and a letter of recommendation from their supervisor or department head. The Organizing Committee will seek a group of trainees who have made outstanding progress in their medical training, who have displayed an interest and competence in clinical or basic research, and who will come from a diverse group of training institutions and personal backgrounds. Consideration will also be given for M.D., Ph.D. students with a demonstrated interest in cancer research.
The 45 trainees selected will be required to pay a minimal registration fee of $250 for the Workshop. This will cover their registration, complimentary hotel accommodations in Snowmass Village at the Westin Snowmass for the nights of the workshop (two trainees per room), inclusive, as well as offset the costs of social events, workshop materials and certain group meals. Trainees will be required to pay for their own travel to and from Snowmass Village. Please note: Because this Workshop receives support from the National Cancer Institute, employees of the Federal Government may not be reimbursed for any expenses connected with the Workshop. However, they are welcome to apply for attendance at the Workshop and, if accepted, attend at their own expense.
The Organizing Committee will also accept five (5) clinical scientists who have already embarked on academic careers. These senior scientists will pay a registration fee of $575 and will not receive any reimbursement for expenses incurred in connection with attending the Workshop.
