Position Title:  Graphic/Web Designer     
Reports to:  Assistant Art Director of Marketing and Creative Services
Department:  Marketing and Creative Services   
Employment Status:  Full-time/ Exempt

Position Description and Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of the assistant art director of Marketing and Creative Services to create a consistent look and feel of AACR web-based materials;
  • Responsible for the conceptualization and implementation of web-based design solutions that meet marketing strategies;
  • Working with Marketing and Creative Services management, meets with internal clients to discuss projects and interpret the client's business needs;
  • Presents visual solutions to internal clients and helps communicate strategies behind design ideas and executions;
  • Creates web applications and components from the requirements stage, through design, through production deployment;
  • Develops web graphics, including web banners, rotating banners, videos, apps, HTML code, email, mobile and other web-based products and applications; 
  • Working with established guidelines, creates the layout, font color, font type, logos, pictures and other visual and verbal aspects of webpages;
  • Creates compelling and highly visual creative graphics and marketing messages;
  • Allocates appropriate amount of time to each work order;
  • Keeps up-to-date on current design methodologies and maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies; and
  • Performs all the essential functions of the position with or without accommodations and other tasks and responsibilities as may be required.

Position Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in graphic design, web design or equivalent experience;
  • At least five years of experience in web design, layout, and production, preferably in a publishing, agency, or studio environment;
  • Excellent coordination, organizational, and prioritization skills;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and proven ability to communicate with all levels of management and external vendors;
  • Ability to communicate conflicting deadlines and realistic estimations of project completion;
  • Flexible and able to work well in a team environment;
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash, HTML, HTML5, other web developing applications, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macintosh platform, and PC/Windows environment;
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail; and
  • Deadline-oriented.
