Award Selection Committees serve in the significant role of selecting recipients of the prizes, awards, and lectureships that are listed for each Committee. 

 


The Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Awards Committee oversees the selection of recipients for the following awards:

 

  • The AACR-Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation Award for Excellence in Cancer Prevention recognizes seminal contributions to the field of cancer prevention.
  • The AACR-American Cancer Society Award for Research Excellence in Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention honors outstanding research accomplishments in the fields of epidemiology, biomarkers, and prevention.

The AACR-CICR Award for Outstanding Achievement in Chemistry in Cancer Research Committee oversees the selection of the recipient for the AACR-CICR Award for Outstanding Achievement in Chemistry in Cancer Research to recognize outstanding, novel, and significant chemistry research which has led to important contributions to the fields of basic cancer research, translational cancer research, cancer diagnosis, the prevention of cancer, or the treatment of patients with cancer.

The Clinical Research and Experimental Therapeutics Awards Committee oversees the selection of recipients for the following awards:

 

  • The AACR-Richard and Hinda Rosenthal Foundation Award honors and provides incentive to investigators relatively early in their careers (not more than 50 years of age) who are engaged in the practice of medicine, for research that has made or gives promise of soon making a notable contribution to improved clinical care in the field of cancer.  
  • The AACR-Joseph H. Burchenal Clinical Research Award recognizes outstanding achievements in clinical cancer research.

The Laboratory Research Awards Committee oversees the selection of recipients for the following awards:

 

  • The AACR-G. H. A. Clowes Memorial Award recognizes outstanding recent accomplishments in basic cancer research.
  • The AACR Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cancer Research gives recognition to a young investigator (not more than 40 years of age) on the basis of meritorious achievement in cancer research.
