Research funding scientific review committees serve in the significant role of selecting recipients of AACR’s research grants for independent investigators, junior faculty and postdoctoral and clinical research fellows.
AACR-Gertrude B. Elion Cancer Research Award Scientific Review Committee (Open to tenure-track researchers at the level of assistant professor, who have completed their postdoctoral studies or clinical fellowships no more than four years prior to the potential start of the grant term)
- Grant funds all areas of cancer research.
Basic Cancer Research Fellowships Scientific Review Committee (Awards are open to postdoctoral and clinical research fellows within academic facilities, teaching hospitals, or research institutions, who will be in the first, second, or third year of their training at the start of the fellowship term)
- Selects grantees for the following awards:
- AACR-Anna D. Barker Fellowship in Basic Cancer Research
- AACR-Astellas Pharma Global Development, Inc. Fellowship in Basic Cancer Research
- Fellowship supports research related to all areas of basic cancer research.
Breast Cancer-Related Research Grants Scientific Review Committee
- Selects grantees for the following awards:
- Breast Cancer Research Foundation-AACR Grants for Translational Breast Cancer Research (Open to independent junior or senior investigators)
- Grant supports breast cancer research projects designed to accelerate the discovery, development, and application of new agents to treat breast cancer and/or for pre-clinical research with
direct therapeutic intent.
- AACR-Genentech BioOncology Fellowship for Cancer Research on the HER Family Pathway (Open to junior faculty within four years of their faculty appointment)
- Grant supports research related to basic, clinical, or epidemiological projects that substancially advance the field of cancer research on the HER family pathway.
Caring for Carcinoid Foundation-Sackler Foundation-AACR Research Grant Scientific Review Committee (Open to independent junior and senior investigators)
- Grant supports research focused on developing and studying novel ideas and approaches with direct application and relevance to carcinoid tumors and/or pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
Clinical and Translational Cancer Research Grants Scientific Review Committee (Junior faculty, postdoctoral and clinical research fellows)
- Selects grantees for the following awards:
- AACR-Amgen, Inc. Fellowship in Clinical and Translational Cancer Research (Open to postdoctoral and clinical research fellows working at an academic, medical, or research institutions and are in the first 5 years of their postdoctoral training at the start of the grant term
- Fellowship funds clinical and/or translational cancer research.
- AACR-Bristol-Myers Squibb Oncology Fellowship in Clinical Cancer Research (Open to postdoctoral and clinical research fellows working at an academic, medical, or research institutions and are in the first 5 years of their postdoctoral training at the start of the grant term)
- Fellowship funds clinical and/or translational cancer research.
- AACR-Judah Folkman Career Development Award for Anti-Angiogenesis Research (Open to junior faculty members within the first 4 years of a faculty appointment)
- Award funds basic, clinical, translational, or epidemiological research projects with the potential to substancially advance the field of anti-angiogenesis cancer research.
- AACR-Dharma Master Jiantai Innovative Grant for Lung Cancer Research (Open to junior faculty members)
- Grant supports research focused on developing and studying new ideas and approaches that have direct application and relevance to lung cancer.
The Landon Foundation-AACR INNOVATOR Award for Cancer Prevention Research Scientific Review Committee (Open to junior faculty)
- Award supports cancer prevention research of significant scientific merit in any discipline across the continuum of research.
The Landon Foundation-AACR INNOVATOR Award for International Collaboration in Cancer Research Scientific Review Committee (Open to two or more independent investigators working within an established, international, cancer research collaboration involving institutes in multiple countries.
- Award supports highly meritorious research related to any cancer being conducted collaboratively by investigators in different countries around the world.
The Landon Foundation-AACR INNOVATOR Award for Research in Personalized Cancer Medicine Scientific Review Committee (Open to physician-scientists conducting meritorious research with direct, human, therapeutic relevance and are within the first ten years of their faculty appointment.
- Award supports any area of cancer research that holds promise for near-patient benefit.
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network-AACR Innovative Grant Scientific Review Committee (Independent junior and senior investigators)
- Grant funds research related to basic, clinical, translational, or epidemiological research with direct applicability and relevance to pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network–AACR Pathway to Leadership Grant Scientific Review Committee (Open to early career researchers beginning their postdoctoral research positions)
- Grant funds research related to basic, clinical, translational, or epidemiological research with direct applicability and relevance to pancreatic cancer.
