We invite all AACR-Minorities in Cancer Research members to submit nominations for positions on the MICR Council. The MICR Council is the leadership body of the MICR and facilitates the mission of MICR, which is to prevent and cure cancer while meeting the professional needs and advancing the careers of minority scientists, through its various purposes.
All AACR-MICR members in good standing (AACR dues paid for 2008) who support the goals of the MICR and are interested in serving on the Council, are eligible for consideration as nominees.
THREE NEW MEMBERS WILL BE ELECTED FOR COUNCIL POSITIONS EACH FOR A 3-YEAR TERM (2009-2012). Eligible candidates must be AACR-MICR Active, Emeritus, or Honorary members in good standing.
A Nomination must include the following:

The nominee’s curriculum vitae and bibliography (included in the CV should be a list of existing funds and grants); and
- A brief statement (250 words or less) outlining the nominee’s activities which support minorities in cancer research and/or his/her intended goals for the MICR Council.
The Deadline for Receipt of Nominations is September 30, 2008.
