Monday, April 2 - 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Room W181, McCormick Place
Chair: Chanita Hughes-Halbert, Ph.D.

To understand and address the complex issues involved in cancer development, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship, multidisciplinary research teams are needed. Multidisciplinary teams are also critical to ensuring academic success as funding for cancer research becomes more constrained. The goal for the 2012 MICR Forum is to identify strategies for developing multidisciplinary teams for cancer research. Through presentations from leading cancer researchers, attendees will receive advice on: (1) strategies on how to develop multidisciplinary research teams, (2) how to work effectively across scientific disciplines to conduct cancer research, and (3) strategies for effective grantsmanship using a multidisciplinary team science approach.
