Charlotte Friend Memorial Lecture Committee
Appointments to this Committee are made by the AACR President, who considers WICR Council members for participation on the Selection and Nominating sub-committees for this lectureship, which honors an outstanding scientist who has made meritorious contributions to the field of cancer researcher and who has, through leadership or by example, furthered the advancement of women in science.
Communications Committee
Recommends content for electronic and print communications to the membership as a means to inform, share information, and stimulate discussion between members. These media include the WICR webpages found on the AACR website, a listserv for WICR members only, the WICR page of the AACR quarterly newsletter, and an e-newsletter for WICR members only.
Membership Development Committee
Assists efforts to increase and sustain membership within AACR-Women in Cancer Research.
Nominating Committee
Organizes the WICR Call for Nominations and puts forth names for nomination to the WICR membership of prominent cancer researchers who support the mission of WICR and have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities. The Committee supports efforts to provide pertinent information to the membership to assist them in making informed choices for the election of individuals to assume roles as WICR Council Chairperson-Elect and member positions.
Professional Advancement Committee
Suggests topics and activities that foster opportunities which lead to educational success and professional advancement for women investigators in the field of cancer research.
