40 Years of Progress in Cancer Research: Transforming Patient Care through Innovation
This congressional briefing, sponsored by the AACR and co-hosted by Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Rep. Brian Bilbray and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, will present the AACR Cancer Progress Report 2011 and provide an overview of the progress in understanding cancer, as well as highlight the opportunities and promise of personalized cancer medicine. Speakers also will discuss research areas where significant progress is still needed to save more lives and greatly improve the quality of life for those living with cancer.

Informatics Needs and Challenges in Cancer Research: A Workshop
The National Cancer Policy Forum will hold a public workshop to examine the informatics needs and challenges for 21st century biomedical research, with a focus on the broad spectrum of cancer research, ranging from basic discovery science to translational research, product development, clinical trials, comparative effectiveness and health services research.

New Paradigms in Drug Discovery: How Genomic Data is Being Used to Revolutionize the Drug Discovery and Development Process: A Workshop
The IOM Roundtable on Translating Genomic-Based Research for Health will host a public workshop to investigate how genetic and genomic information is currently being used and will be used in the future to improve the business of drug development. Stakeholders, who may include leaders from the pharmaceutical industry, academia and regulatory agencies, will be asked to present their perspectives during the workshop.

AACR Annual Meeting 2012
The AACR Annual Meeting will highlight the best and latest findings in all major areas of cancer research.
