AACR Facts and Figures 2010

• The AACR has more than 32,000 members in more than 90 countries.

• The AACR holds several conferences that focus on the latest developments and advances in cancer research in addition to the annual meeting, including its annual conferences on cancer health disparities and cancer prevention research. (View webcasts from AACR meetings.)

• The AACR publishes six peer-reviewed scientific journals: Cancer Research; Clinical Cancer Research; Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention; Molecular Cancer Therapeutics; Molecular Cancer Research; and Cancer Prevention Research.

• Now in its sixth year, the AACR's Survivor and Patient Advocacy Program has collaborated with more than 100 advocacy organizations, published 20 issues of CR magazine, and exposed more than 260 graduates of the Scientist↔Survivor Program to the latest findings in cancer research.

• The AACR is the sole scientific partner of Stand Up To Cancer
  (SU2C). In 2009, SU2C awarded $73.6 million to five interdisciplinary, multi-institutional Dream Teams for translational research.

• SU2C also awarded a total of $9.68 million for SU2C Innovative Research Grants to 13 young investigators to support research that holds great promise for improving and saving the lives of cancer patients.
