The AACR 101st Annual Meeting 2010 will be held April 17-21, 2010 in Washington, DC. The 2010 Annual Meeting, with the theme of "Conquering Cancer Through Discovery Research," will highlight the best cancer science and medicine from institutions all over the world. The complex nature of cancer requires an interdisciplinary approach to research, starting with the cutting-edge basic science that undergirds all that we do in the field to translational, clinical, and population research, and back. Clearly we have come upon an age when large research teams must work together to make further progress. The collaborations that naturally evolve from informal interactions at our Annual Meeting create the scientific synergies that have led to past successes in the field and will drive us faster toward future cures. This meeting represents an opportunity to stretch our boundaries, attend sessions outside of our own areas of expertise, and learn how to apply exciting new concepts, tools, and techniques to our own research.

Several changes have been made to the Annual Meeting format for 2010 in order to make the meeting more "user friendly." There will be a major Plenary Session each morning, where attendees can share the experience of hearing about major developments in a variety of hot cancer research areas. We have reduced the number of competing sessions throughout the meeting so that attendees will not have to miss a session of interest in order to attend a different one of equal or greater interest. Finally, we have reduced the length of the poster sessions from four hours to three hours so that poster presenters will have more time to attend oral presentations and hold informal discussions with their colleagues. We feel confident that these adjustments in the program will help you to navigate through this robust scientific meeting.

Over 16,000 researchers from around the world attended the 2009 Annual Meeting to network and learn about the latest breakthroughs in cancer research and we hope that you plan on joining thousands of your colleagues in Washington, DC for the 2010 Annual Meeting.
