2011 Proceedings of the AACR: Free Download to Mobile Devices The 2011 Proceedings of the AACR is available for free download to the following mobile devices: Additional Instructions:
Downloading the Proceedings to Your iPhone / iPod Touch:
  1. Open Stanza and press the Get Books tab at the bottom of the screen.
  2. At the top of the screen, press the "Shared" button (make sure the "Downloads" button is not pressed), and then press the "+" or "Edit" button in the top right toolbar to open the Add Book Source page.
  3. On the Add Book source page, enter a Source name (e.g., AACR 2011) in the Name field. In the URL field, type or paste in the following URL: http://bit.ly/iagA4X [NOTE: The URL is case-sensitive.]
  4. Just below the URL bar, press the "Web Page" button (make sure the "Catalog" button is not pressed), then press the Save button in the top right corner of the screen.
  5. AACR 2011 (or the Source name you provided in step #4 above) will appear in the Book Sources list. Touch AACR 2011 in the Book Sources list to select it.
  6. A web page with the following two links will appear:Sunday and Monday Presentations Tuesday and Wednesday Presentations  Touch the "Sunday and Monday Presentations" link and then press the red Download button. After a few minutes, a file named "AACR2011SunMon" will appear on the Downloads page.
  7. From the Downloads page, press the Shared button at the top of the screen to return to the page with the download links (see step #6 above). Touch the "Tuesday and Wednesday Presentations" link and then press the red Download button. After a few minutes, a file named "AACR2011TueWed" will appear on the Downloads page.
  8. The Proceedings files can be opened and read from the Downloads page or from the Library page.
Downloading the Proceedings to Your iPad:
  1. Use these links to download the Proceedings Epub files: http://bit.ly/h56Gv9 http://bit.ly/g2cAvK   
  2. Open iTunes using the account associated with your iPad.
  3. Select the downloaded files and drag them over the Library area in the left panel.
  4. If you already have an iBooks entry, the documents will appear there. If you do not already have an iBooks entry, iTunes will create one for you and place the documents within it.
  5. Sync your iPad.
  6. The Proceedings will appear as a titles in your iBooks Library.

Downloading the Proceedings to Your Google Android Phone:
  1. Click the Market icon on your Android and search for "WordPlayer." The "WordPlayer" application should be the first result.
  2. Tap on this icon to install WordPlayer.
  3. With WordPlayer installed you can now access the files directly from this site.
  4. Open this site in your Android web browser, and touch these links to open the Proceedings files: http://bit.ly/h56Gv9http://bit.ly/g2cAvK
  5. You will then receive a "Complete Action" pop-up. From the list of choices, choose WordPlayer. The file will then open for you to read.
  6. If you prefer, you can also download the .epub file listed here to your PC, insert your Android’s SD card, and copy the files to the SD card from your computer. Then, you can open WordPlayer and select "Load EPUB from SDCard. "

Downloading the Proceedings to Your RIM Blackberry: Depending on the model and the reader applications installed, Blackberry users may be able to read the Proceedings in either Epub or Mobi formats:

  1. Connect the Kindle to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. The Kindle directory should open automatically. If not, open the My Computer folder and open the Kindle directory.
  3. In the Kindle directory, open the Documents folder.
  4. Use these links to download the Proceedings of the AACR: http://bit.ly/giOLrg  http://bit.ly/fgVQNX When the File Download dialog box opens, click Save, open the Kindle Documents folder, and click the Save button.
  5. Disconnect the USB cable from the Kindle.
  6. A new entry for each downloaded file will appear in the Kindle menu.

  7. Disconnect the USB cable from the Sony Reader. Each downloaded file will appear as a title in your Catalog.

  7. Disconnect the USB cable from the Nook.
  8. On the Nook, click on My Library.
  9. In the touch pad at the bottom, touch "Check for new content."
  10. Each downloaded file will appear as a title in your Library.

Downloading the 2011 Proceedings of the AACR to the iPad, Sony Reader, and Barnes & Noble Nook: Special Instructions for Windows XP Users If you are a Windows XP user, you may need to rename the epub file before you can load it onto your e-reader. If you have trouble after following the standard instructions, please follow the steps below before proceeding:
  1. Save the AACR_2011_Abstracts zip folder onto your desktop.
  2. Click on the Start menu and select Control Panel.
  3. In the Control Panel window, select Appearances and Themes.
  4. Select the Folder Options link, and click the View tab at the top of the Folder Options window.
  5. In the Advanced Settings options, uncheck the “Hide Extensions for Known File Types” box (eighth check box listed).
  6. Click the Apply button and then the OK button.
  7. Locate the AACR_2011_Abstracts zip folder on your desktop and right click on the folder.
  8. Select Rename, delete the existing file name, and enter AACR_2011_Abstracts.epub.
  9. When the File Name Extension warning box appears, select "Yes" next to Change the File Extension.
  10. The file format will change to an epub file and can be downloaded to your e-reader device.
  11. Return to the Mobile Downloads page and follow the remaining instructions.

Downloading the 2011 Proceedings of the AACR to the iPad, Sony Reader, and Barnes & Noble Nook: Special Instructions for Windows 7 Users If you are a Windows 7 user, you may need to rename the epub file before you can load it onto your e-reader.
