ABOUT THE ANNUAL MEETING

More than 17,000 participants from 60 countries will gather to discuss an estimated 6,000 abstracts and to hear more than 500 invited presentations on new and significant discoveries in basic, clinical, and translational cancer research. Scientific award lectures, grant writing workshops, networking events, and educational sessions will round out the comprehensive program.


ASSISTANCE FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED REGISTRANTS

The AACR Annual Meeting is accessible to all attendees. Registrants with special requirements for transportation, hotel accommodations, or other facilities connected with the meeting should notify the AACR in advance by checking the appropriate box when registering or by contacting the AACR Meetings Department at (215) 440-9300 or meetings@aacr.org. In addition, a list of organizations in San Diego that offer special equipment or services for the physically challenged will be available on this webpage in January 2008. Please note that this box is only for physically challenged registrants.


CHILD CARE

The AACR will provide professional child care services at reduced rates subsidized by the Association for infants and children ages 6 months to 11 years during the Annual Meeting. The exact hours and costs of this service, as well as a registration form are available at www.kiddiecorp.com/aacrkids.htm. The child care center will be located at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina, adjacent to the convention center.

NURSING MOTHERS SUITE

Annual Meeting registrants who are also nursing mothers will find the privacy of the Nursing Mothers Suite a comfortable and secure environment in which to nourish and nurture their babies. AACR-Women in Cancer Research is pleased to sponsor this important service. Additional information will be available in upcoming AACR Annual Meeting announcements and on this webpage.


SPACE FOR SPECIAL FUNCTIONS

The AACR will consider requests for space for special functions or receptions in the hotels listed in the Call for Abstracts. These requests will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Any corporation that wishes to entertain during the Annual Meeting must be an exhibitor at the meeting. Space request forms are included in the Exhibitor Services Kit or by clicking here.


Note: Outside educational programs, including company-sponsored symposia, will not be permitted at anytime during the AACR Annual Meeting.
