The conference will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. The Gaylord National is the cornerstone of the 300-acre National Harbor waterfront entertainment district, located 8 miles/13 kilometers south of Washington, D.C., and offers convenient access to the historic sights and cultural offerings of the Capital Region.
A reduced conference rate of $199 per night (plus tax), single or double occupancy, is available to conference attendees until Monday, August 26 on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations may be online below or by calling (877) 491-0468 and identifying yourself as an AACR Frontiers in Basic Cancer Research conference attendee. Reservations made after the August 26 deadline will be accepted based upon hotel room and rate availability at that time. Government room rates are available, but only by calling (877) 491-0468.
TRAVEL TO NATIONAL HARBOR
The closest major airport to the conference site is the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), just 8 miles/13 kilometers from the hotel. Dulles International Airport (IAD) is approximately 35 miles/56 kilometers from the conference site. The AACR has named Gant Travel Management as its official travel coordinator for this conference. For those who choose to travel by train, Amtrak is offering a 10 percent discount for travel to/from Washington Union Station between September 15–25. In order to receive this discount, the reservation must be made by calling Amtrak directly at (800) 872-7245 and referring to Convention Fare Code X69N-968. This discount is not available for online Amtrak reservations.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Taxi service is readily available between the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and the Gaylord National Resort. Taxi service to and from the airport is approximately $45 one-way, plus gratuity. Taxi service is also readily available from Dulles International Airport and Amtrak's Union Station. Researchers from more than 50 different countries around the world regularly participate in AACR meetings and conferences. The association encourages and appreciates the contributions of international researchers at our programs.
