Advances in Breast Cancer Research: Genetics, Biology, and Clinical Applications

Immuno-FISH image of an invasive breast cancer for the analysis of intra-tumoral heterogeneity. Blue color marks CD44 positive cells, red and green dots correspond to chromosome 11q13 specific BAC and centromeric probes, respectively. High level of amplification is observed in both CD44-positive and CD44-negative tumor cells. The image was digitally altered for illustration purposes. Photo taken and experiment performed by Dr. So Yeon Park, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

This AACR Special Conference on Advances in Breast Cancer Research will capture the latest discoveries in genetics, cell biology, and molecular biology that are relevant to mammary development, transformation, and breast cancer progression. Sessions will include high-profile speakers in the areas of stem cell biology, genetics and breast cancer risk, mouse models for breast cancer, genomic and proteomic approaches to tumor profiling, metastasis and breast cancer progression, oncogene signaling, the influence of tumor microenvironment on breast carcinogenesis, as well as state-of-the-art imaging methods and the latest in molecular therapeutics for breast cancer. Thematic sessions will consist of 25-minute presentations with ample time for discussion. In addition, Poster sessions will be held to allow investigators to present and discuss their latest research in an informal setting. This conference will appeal to basic scientists interested in mammary gland biology as well as investigators focused on experimental, translational, and clinical aspects of breast cancer. We hope you will join us in San Diego for this exciting program.
