ACCOMMODATIONS
The conference will be held at The Westin San Diego Hotel in San Diego, California. The hotel is located in the heart of beautiful downtown San Diego. Convenient to business and shopping, within walking distance of the Seaport Village, Little Italy, and the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. Only minutes away are major attractions, such as the world-renowned San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Old Town, Balboa Park and Museums, the USS Midway and the breathtaking scenery of San Diego’s stunning sandy beaches.
A reduced conference rate of $219 per night was available to conference attendees until Wednesday, April 18. Reservations made after April 18 will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the nearest available rate by calling (619) 239-4500. Applied to the room charge will be state and local taxes, currently 12.565 percent. Reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card at the time of reservation. A deposit equal to one night’s stay will be charged to the credit card at the time the reservation is made. Cancellations will be accepted at no charge until three days in advance of arrival. Note that check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and check-out time is 12:00 p.m..
TRAVEL TO SAN DIEGO
The closest major airport to the conference site is the San Diego International Airport (SAN), located approximately 12 minutes from the hotel. The AACR has named Gant Travel Management as its official travel coordinator for this conference. Gant will provide custom itineraries with the lowest applicable airfares and best journey time.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Taxi and shuttle service are available from San Diego International Airport (SAN) to The Westin San Diego. Complimentary shuttle service provided by The Westin is available from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. To reserve the shuttle van from the airport, call the hotel from the baggage claim kiosk. They will inform you when and where the shuttle van will meet you. To reserve the shuttle van to the airport, sign up at the luggage desk in the lobby 24 hours in advance or call service express. Taxi service is approximately $10 one-way, plus gratuity. The AACR has also arranged for a car rental discount through Hertz. Researchers from more than 50 different countries around the world regularly participate in AACR meetings and conferences. The Association encourages and appreciates the contributions of international researchers at our programs. If you plan to attend this AACR conference, please contact the American Consulate in your country to review the current regulations for travel to the United States.
