This AACR Special Conference will address the unique issues and challenges to investigating and effectively treating childhood cancers. The theme of this conference will be the translation of recent discoveries in the basic mechanisms of pediatric cancer into improved outcomes for patients. Sessions will include the most up-to-date findings on the developmental biology of pediatric malignancies, genetic predisposition to pediatric cancers, and pivotal clinical trials. Strategies for translating basic science findings into treatments with a clinical impact will be highlighted throughout the conference. This conference will bring together basic, clinical, and translational researchers in the field of pediatric cancer with expertise ranging from the most recent advances in the basic mechanisms of childhood cancers to the application of these findings in the clinical setting.
