Panelists:
- Susan M. Love, Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, Santa Monica, CA
- Jennifer L. Ivanovich, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO
- Thea D. Tlsty, University of California School of Medicine, San Francisco, CA
- Leslie Bernstein, City of Hope, Duarte, CA
The Love/Avon Army of Women has existed for three years. This panel will focus on how the Army of Women has accelerated research into the cause and prevention of breast cancer and how the scientific community can best utilize the Army of Women for their research needs. Dr. Susan Love will discuss the overall vision for the initiative, some of the success stories, and the benefits of designing a study that will utilize the Army of Women cohort. Ms. Ivanovich has used the Army of Women for her genomic study and can discuss how this resource has accelerated their research and enabled them to save money, time and resources. Dr. Tlsty will discuss how the Army of Women is revolutionizing the way biologists do breast cancer research.
