Translational research is a key programmatic priority of the AACR, and with this in mind, we have developed a global Translational Cancer Medicine Conference Series. The first Translational Cancer Medicine conference took place in Singapore in November 2007, and upcoming Translational Cancer Medicine conferences will take place in Monterey, CA, Jerusalem, Israel, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Translational cancer medicine happens at the interface between the lab and the clinic. It transitions basic science breakthroughs to the practice of medicine and uses clinical outcome to feed back into basic research. In order to make any advances in translational cancer medicine there must be open lines of communication between researchers and clinicians. Through our series of international conferences, we hope to present information on the current advances in translational cancer medicine and foster the open discourse essential for progress against cancer.
