This Translational Cancer Medicine conference brought together top cancer scientists from the United States, Israel, Europe and neighboring Mediterranean and Middle Eastern countries to share in a productive and lively cancer research forum with an emphasis on emerging technologies and opportunities for clinical translation and integration into oncologic practice. The conference focused on the identification of new therapeutic targets, biomarkers, prognostic factors, and novel diagnostics. The growing integration of genomic and proteomic technologies into clinical care in the setting of lymphoma, breast cancer, and other solid tumors was also discussed. Presentations on novel approaches to patient stratification and the design of clinical trials which will allow more successful integration of newer modalities and more efficient testing of targeted agents were presented by leaders in these fields.

The AACR was pleased to sponsor this historic regional forum for investigators working in translational cancer research. The program promoted in-depth discussions among a diverse group of multidisciplinary clinical and basic investigators and provided an opportunity for young investigators to share ideas and interact with seasoned investigators.
