EDUCATIONAL SESSION

The conference opens with an Educational Workshop on “Tailoring Clinical Trials and Therapies” designed to provide an overview for investigators who are not expert in these areas. The Educational Workshop will run from 14:30-16:30 on Monday, November 3, in Oren 2.


KEYNOTE ADDRESSES

The first two Keynote Addresses will take place from 17:30-19:30 on Monday, November 3 in Teddy A. Dr. José Baselga of Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona, Spain will give a talk on “Biomarker Driven Clinical Trials with Molecular Targeted Agents.” This will be followed by the second Keynote Address, the Linda Fenner Memorial Lecture. Dr. Yosef Yarden of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel will give a talk on “EGFR and HER2: Signaling Mechanisms and Relevance to Cancer Therapy.” The Opening Reception will immediately follow the Keynote Addresses, from 19:30-20:30, in the Teddy Foyer of the ICC Jerusalem International Convention Center.


A third Keynote Address will take place from 19:00-19:45 on Wednesday, November 5 in the Zion Ballroom of the Inbal Hotel. Dr. Napoleone Ferrara of Genentech, Inc. in San Francisco, CA, USA will give the Judah Folkman Memorial Lecture on “Targeting Angiogenesis: From the Laboratory to the Clinic.” The Conference Banquet will immediately follow this Keynote Address, beginning at 19:45 in the Zion Ballroom of the Inbal Hotel.

PLENARY SESSIONS

The program includes six major Plenary Sessions that are designed to promote the open discourse necessary for confronting challenges of applying scientific discoveries in cancer to the practice of medicine. These sessions will feature discussion time following each talk. The Plenary Sessions will focus on Angiogenesis and Tumor Microenvironment; Immunological Issues in Cancer; DNA Damage and Other Cellular Stress Responses; Targeting Signaling Pathways; Imaging; and Genomics and Epigenomics in Cancer. All Plenary Sessions will be held in Teddy A.


PANEL DISCUSSION

The program includes an hour-long panel discussion on “Challenges in Clinical/Translational Research in Israel,” to be held on Tuesday, November 4 from 17:00-18:00 in Teddy A.


POSTER SESSIONS

Abstracts will be presented at the two poster sessions to be held in Teddy C on November 4 and 5, from 13:00-15:00. Lunch will be available during both Poster Sessions in Oren Halls. All presenters must stand at their posters for at least 90 minutes of the two-hour poster session. Presenters may set up their posters anytime after 07:30 the day of their session. Posters should be removed immediately following each session.
