Lung Cancer Articles

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death in the United States, yet clinical trials in general have failed to identify an effective chemopreventive agent. However, articles on recent studies (two randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials and one gene expression analysis) published in Cancer Prevention Research, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research, highlight recent progress in the fields of chemoprevention and biomarker discovery for lung cancer. These timely studies enhance our understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of lung cancer and offer proof that personalized chemoprevention protocols for the development of lung cancer are on the horizon.
