American Association for Cancer Research

AACR-Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Pilot Grants

Program Mission Statement

The AACR-Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Pilot Grants represent a joint effort of the AACR and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Inc. to support innovative research focusing on the early detection or treatment of pancreatic cancer. Research projects may have direct application to pancreatic cancer or may demonstrate relevance to pancreatic cancer in order to encourage investigators with experience in other areas of research to apply their ideas to this challenging field.

Research Project Criteria

Proposals will be accepted for innovative research projects that have a direct application or demonstrate relevance to the early detection or treatment of pancreatic cancer; projects may be in any discipline of basic, translational, clinical, or epidemiological cancer research.

Proposals that will develop preliminary data necessary to prepare and submit a competitive research grant application to a major federal funding agency will also be accepted.

Special emphasis will be placed on research that is not duplicative of other efforts and has the potential for national application.

Applicant Eligibility Criteria

Applications will be accepted from:

Young Investigators (postdoctoral or clinical fellows; instructors; junior faculty; or the equivalent who are working under the auspices of a scientific mentor) with demonstrated potential for and commitment to pancreatic cancer research

OR

Researchers who are affiliated with any institution involved in cancer research, cancer medicine, or cancer-related biomedical science within the United States may apply.
