The GIST Cancer Research Fund (GCRF) works to fund gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) research and to create GIST tissue banks. The organization also provides information and support for patients and maintains a list of doctors specializing in GIST in the U.S. and abroad. GIST Support International (GSI) is an organization dedicated to educating and supporting patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). GSI provides information tailored to newly diagnosed patients, including a list of medical centers around the world that have experience treating the disease. GSI connects patients to one another through listservs and by phone. GSI also moderates a blog on which survivors discuss the psychosocial implications of living with GIST.
