AACR Career Development Awards are open to junior faculty at an academic or medical institution who completed postdoctoral studies or clinical fellowships no more than three years prior to the start of the grant term. The Awards provide two-year grants of $50,000 per year for direct research expenses and salary support.
Applications must be completed online using the proposalCENTRAL website, with one paper copy submitted to the AACR office. Application instructions and program guidelines are available below and on the proposalCENTRAL website.
AACR-Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Career Development Award for Pancreatic Cancer Research: Candidates must be affiliated with an institution in the U.S. Research projects must have direct applicability to pancreatic cancer. Five grants will be presented in 2008.
AACR-Aflac, Incorporated Career Development Award for Pediatric Cancer Research: Research projects must have direct applicability to pediatric cancer. One grant will be presented in 2008.
AACR-FNAB Foundation Career Development Award for Translational Cancer Research: Proposed research must have implications for individualized cancer treatment and make use of human biopsies or samples, such as needle biopsies or circulating cancer cells. In vivo primary tumor explants meet these criteria, but xenografts from established cell lines do not. One grant will be presented in 2008.
AACR-Genentech BioOncology Career Development Award for Cancer Research on the HER Family Pathway: Candidates must be affiliated with an institution in the U.S. and must hold an M.D. or combined M.D./Ph.D. Research projects are restricted to basic, translational, or clinical cancer research focused on the HER Family Pathway. One grant will be presented in 2008.
