The Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research Conference

This popular cancer prevention conference promotes public, academic, government and industry awareness of the vital importance of cancer prevention science in reducing cancer incidence and mortality. The meeting catalyzes coordinated, focused transdisciplinary research that promises to accelerate a reduction in the cancer burden.

The Scientist↔Survivor Program at the Conference

Survivor and patient advocates who participate in the ScientistSurvivor Program at the Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research Conference will:

  • Attend special lectures about cancer research that are tailored to a lay audience;
  • Discuss relevant and timely cancer prevention topics during small group meetings, roundtable discussions and meetings with scientific mentors;
  • Communicate to scientists the key issues, questions and concerns of the survivor and patient advocacy communities;
  • Network with scientists and fellow advocates from local, national and international cancer organizations;
  • Use the lay-language lectures, group meetings, and other special sessions as background for exploring the scientific sessions of the Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research Conference on their own or with scientific mentors.

Expenses

The AACR will cover all travel, lodging and meals for accepted participants during the program. Participants are responsible for any incidental expenses, including tips, phone, laundry and rental cars.
