February 2 - 6, 2005
Omni San Diego Hotel
San Diego, California

CONFERENCE CHAIRPERSONS
Jeffrey M. Trent, Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), Phoenix, AZ
Nicholas C. Dracopoli, Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Princeton, NJ

This was the fourth oncogenomics conference sponsored by the AACR to bring together a diverse group of scientists working in the fields of genome research and cancer biology. The conference explored how genomic research can be used most effectively to impact the clinical response to cancer. Among the topics presented were Genomics: Technology and Future Directions; Mathematical Oncology and Pathway Prediction; Molecular Cancer Biology; Clinical Applications of Genomics; Pharmacogenomics and Drug Discovery; Genetic Epidemiology; and the Future of Functional Genomics. In addition to the plenary lectures and poster sessions (which featured some 130 abstracts), a special educational session was held before the start of the conference on "Accelerating Genomics into Clinical Practice: Is the Future Here Today?". Over 350 scientists and researchers from nearly 30 countries participated in the conference.
