Research Funding & Training Grants

Research Funding Opportunities

A hallmark of the AACR is the promotion and support of the highest quality cancer research. The AACR offers an outstanding array of support mechanisms for cancer researchers at various stages in their careers, from fellowships to career development awards to major grants for independent investigators.

Since 1993, the AACR has provided $16.3 million in funding to 172 projects.

Travel Grants and Scholar Awards

To enhance the education and training of investigators, the AACR offers a variety of Scholar Awards and travel grants that provide financial support for attendance at AACR Annual Meetings, Special Conferences, and other scientific meetings sponsored by the AACR worldwide. Since the first travel grant was offered in 1986, the AACR has provided over 4,000 awards.

Check eligibility criteria carefully. Requirements of residency, citizenship, seniority, and research area are specific to each award or grant.

Some funding opportunities are open to researchers all over the world, while others are limited to investigators conducting research in the U.S., or U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
