American Association for Cancer Research

Tumor Microenvironment Working Group (TME)

Mission

The mission of the Tumor Microenvironment Working Group (TME) is to provide an opportunity for a diverse group of scientists with a common interest in the tumor microenvironment to guide the AACR in activities directed at understanding the impact of the microenvironment on cancer initiation and progression, and the application of this knowledge for the prevention and cure of cancer.

TME supports its mission and the AACR’s mission to prevent and cure cancer by:
  • Promoting research of the tumor microenvironment as an integral part of the prevention and cure of cancer;
  • Sponsoring scientific initiatives such as symposia, forums, meetings, and conferences that provide a venue for the dissemination and discussion of advances related to the tumor microenvironment;
  • Stimulating new developments in research, technology, concepts, and policies to advance the field;
  • Strengthening this important area of science within AACR journals by encouraging manuscript submissions and other relevant publications;
  • Fostering an atmosphere of open dialogue among researchers in all sub-disciplines of cancer research related to and interested in the study of the tumor microenvironment;
  • Supporting the education, training, and professional advancement of early-career scientists to drive interest in the field.

How Can You Join TME?

AACR members may indicate their wish to join TME via the AACR annual dues invoice, which is sent to members in the winter each year. Note: TME does not charge auxiliary dues.

AACR members may also join TME at other times during the year by completing the TME membership form.

The AACR will automatically renew your membership to the TME Working Group unless you inform the AACR that you no longer wish to be a member.
