AACR Annual Meeting 2026: Abstract Deadline Extension for Federal Employees

The abstract submission deadline for the AACR Annual Meeting 2026 is 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 18. However, the AACR is offering additional submission options to federal employees whose work and communications were disrupted by the recent government shutdown. If you are a federal employee and are concerned about meeting the November 18 submission deadline, please proceed as follows:

  1. Start Your Abstract Submission by November 18. Log into the abstract submission system using your myAACR account and begin your submission before 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 18. You do not need to complete the submission by this deadline, but you must create an abstract record in the system.
  2. Complete Your Submission by 11 a.m. ET on November 24. After the 11:59 p.m. ET deadline on November 18, the submitter will switch to edit-only mode. If you are a federal employee and have an abstract record under your account in the system, you will have an extended grace period to complete your submission by 11 a.m. ET on Monday, November 24.
  3. Delay Payment of the Abstract Fee (if Needed). If the shutdown has impacted your ability to pay the $85 submission fee by the extended deadline, you may select the “Pay by Check” option. This will enable you to bypass the payment step temporarily and complete your submission. To arrange payment by check or credit card, please contact [email protected].
  4. Alternative Option: Submit by the Late-Breaking Deadline. If you are unable to complete your submission by the extended November 24 deadline, you may submit your work as a late-breaking abstract. Online submission for late-breaking abstracts will open on Thursday, December 11, and the deadline is 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, January 12. The program subcommittee will give special consideration to late-breaking abstracts submitted by federal employees.
