Dr. Mills is a Professor at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) with an appointment in the Cell, Developmental and Cancer Biology department; he serves as Director of Precision Oncology at the Knight Cancer Institute at OHSU, as well as Director of the SMMART Trials. He holds the Wayne and Julie Drinkward Endowed Chair in Precision Oncology. Dr. Mills currently serves as principal investigator or project investigator on many national peer-reviewed grants including NIH/NCI SPOREs, U54 and other NIH grants, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation and Komen Foundation grants. He has published more than 700 papers on the molecular analysis of cancer and holds more than 20 patents related to novel technologies and molecular markers. He was recently awarded the Komen Brinker Award for Scientific Excellence, the Stand Up To Cancer Laura Ziskin Prize for mentoring, and the Finneran Family Prize in Translational Research.
