MICR in the Community
Third Annual Philadelphia Sista Strut 3K Breast Cancer Walk
Saturday, June 15, 2019, 8am-1pm
Each year, MICR has the pleasure of participating in the Philadelphia Sista Strut! This event features a 3K walk with the goal of increasing public awareness about the impact of breast cancer in women of color. This year's Sista Strut will take place Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Xfinity LIVE! in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
AACR members, survivors, advocates, health professionals and the community-at-large unite in support during this half-day of health advocacy, cancer education, and community engagement. We were very proud to have AACR-MICR member, Dr. Camille C.R. Ragin, address attendees with information on cancer and preventative measures. Ms. Kim Hall-Jackson will give inspirational remarks on her journey as a cancer survivor. We invite you to visit the AACR booth to learn more about the AACR and MICR and to post your message in our Survivor's Lounge.
As a global leader in the fight against cancer, the AACR understands the importance of heightening cancer awareness in the community, and we are so pleased to be part of this event. We are also delighted that the proceeds from this event will benefit the MICR programs that support breast cancer research for minorities and other diversity initiatives. We hope that you will be able to join us for this exciting event!
