What are your long-term career objectives?

I am an epidemiologist focused on cancer control and prevention in the work environment. I am building a program of research that conducts surveillance for cancer incidence and mortality among first responders and translates these findings into workplace interventions. I am particularly concerned about redressing disparities in cancer risk, whether by race/ethnicity, gender, or occupation.

Please share information about how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted your research over the last two years.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been largely confined to working remotely through the use of Zoom to remain engaged in my cancer research. While I pivoted briefly to study COVID-19 infection and immune function in first responders, I am excited to attend and actively participate in the AACR conference which will be my first in-person scientific meeting since the pandemic.
