My research interest is in radiation oncology, specifically in utilizing proton radiation therapy to eliminate glioma stem cells in patients with low grade gliomas. My long-term goal is to investigate the biomolecular mechanisms of tumor chemoradioresistance and translate these findings into safe and highly efficacious cancer therapeutics as a physician-scientist. I hope to use my experience as a Spanish-English medical interpreter to ensure that language barriers do not diminish the quality of cancer treatment that Spanish-speaking patients receive.
