What are your long-term goals?

My long-term goals are to become a leader in the scientific community and use my position to establish a culture of respect and equity at any institution I am a part of for underrepresented students in the sciences.

Please share information about how the pandemic has impacted your research over the last two years.

The pandemic started officially during the second semester of my first year of my PhD, it was very impactful on my experience, it hindered my ability to mesh socially with my newly selected lab, which I had only just joined a month prior, and it prevented me from starting my wet-lab work until the summer months. This has delayed my progress and definitely made learning from my lab mates challenging especially in the beginning when university COVID safety policies prevented us from working together. Despite the hardship incurred by the pandemic, I have continued to work hard and persevere and with the guidance of my research advisor, I have been making strides in my progress.
