Pedro Costa-Pinheiro is a graduate student at the University of Virginia and have been working in cancer research for more than 10 years. He obtained his Master’s in Molecular Oncology at the University of Porto studying epigenetic changes and their role as molecular biomarkers for prostate cancer. In his graduate career he had shifted focus to molecular mechanisms and novel therapeutics based on metabolism of prostate cancer. His career goal is to combine these two fields and study the intersection of epigenetics and metabolism in cancer. He also hopes to be able to train the next generation of cancer researchers.
