My name is Dr. Russell Ledet, and I am a fourth year medical student of Tulane University School of Medicine, cancer scientist, health disparities advocate, and AACR AMC member.
After completion of medical and business school, I intend to pursue a physician-scientist residency program where there is a great deal of childhood cancer-related research ongoing. Particularly, I am interested in the radiation oncology residency program at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. After completing residency, I am still not certain as to whether a pharmaceutical-oriented or academic-oriented career best suits my interests. I also have a keen interest in executive leadership, specifically within the area of medical and pharmaceutical management, and the outlook for cancer therapy development. With the perpetual emergence of immunotherapy and its historically efficacy in a number of areas, I intend to position myself during residency as a research-focused clinician.
