Abstract 1732: Lysine-specific histone demethylase 1A (KDM1A/LSD1) inhibition attenuates DNA double-strand break repair and augments efficacy of temozolomide in glioblastoma

What are your long-term career objectives?

As an MD/PhD student in the South Texas Medical Scientist Training Program at UT Health San Antonio, my research focuses on investigating the potential of Lysine-Specific Histone Demethylase 1A (KDM1A/LSD1) inhibitors to sensitize glioma stem cells and GBM to chemo and radiation by attenuating DNA repair. My career goal is to become a translational physician-scientist bridging the gap between laboratory research and clinical practice, developing innovative therapeutics to fight cancer and improve the lives of cancer patients.
