Accommodations and Travel

The AACR has recently been notified that some conference registrants are being solicited by an unauthorized company trying to obtain credit card information by phone and email to secure housing accommodations at this conference.  All information regarding travel and housing accommodations is available on this webpage.  The AACR will not contact you by phone or email requesting credit card information. Accommodations

The conference will be held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown is located approximately 12 miles away from the Philadelphia International Airport and 53 miles from the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY).  A reduced conference rate of $229.00 per night is available to conference attendees until Friday, August 26, 2022. Reservations may be made online or reservations can also be made via telephone with Marriott’s Reservations number at 1-877-901-6632, requesting the 15th AACR Science of Cancer Health Disparities Conference rate. The hotel will accept reservations at the reduced conference rate on a space-available basis until the cut-off date. Reservations made after this date will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the nearest available rate. Applied to the room charge will be state and local taxes, currently 15.5 %. Reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card at the time of reservation. No deposit will be taken at the time the reservation is made. Cancellations will be accepted at no charge 72 hours in advance of arrival.  Note that check-in time is 4:00 p.m., and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.  

Travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The closest major airport to the conference site is the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), located approximately 17 minutes (12 miles) from the hotel.   • Samantha will research the best flight options and provide several choices that fit your needs.  
  • A one-time minimal transaction fee of $30 will be clearly listed along with flight pricing.  
  • For your security, CT will require a signed credit card authorization form before they can process payment for your flight.

Ground Transportation

A variety of ground transportation options are available upon arrival, including taxi service, private car service, Uber, car rentals, and shared shuttles. Taxi service between the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and the Philadelphia Marriot Downtown is approximately $35.00 one way, plus gratuity. Taxi service between the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) approximately $135.00 one way, plus gratuity.

International Travel

Researchers from more than 50 different countries around the world regularly participate in AACR meetings and conferences. The Association encourages and appreciates the contributions of international researchers at our programs. If you plan to attend this AACR conference, please contact the American Consulate in your country to review the current regulations for travel to the United States. Obtaining the proper documentation may take several weeks or months, depending on your location, so we encourage you to contact the consulate as soon as possible if you are considering attending this conference.
