Sarcomas are a rare but complex group of malignant tumor types that affect 1% of the adult population but are more prevalent among children, representing about 15% of pediatric cancers. This AACR Special Conference on Sarcomas will delve into the advances made in the research and treatment of sarcomas and soft tissue tumors. This conference will provide a forum for critically reviewing the evidence of the role of biological mechanisms in the cause and progression of sarcomas, in addition to examining the current and novel therapies available for combating this cancer. The conference cochairs have developed an exciting program that will not only bring together researchers and clinicians from diverse backgrounds to enhance cross-communication but will also spotlight talks from submitted abstracts to highlight the advancements and diversity of the adult and pediatric sarcomas field.
