World Lung Cancer Day (August 1, 2021) 

Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer death in the United States and worldwide. It is estimated there will be 235,760 new cases of lung and bronchus cancer and some 131,880 deaths in the United States in 2021, according to the National Cancer Institute. Early detection is key to improving this and other cancer outcomes. The AACR Special Conference on Precision Prevention, Early Detection, and Interception of Cancer, taking place on January 21-23, 2022 in Austin, Texas, will raise the visibility of advances in the field of prevention and early detection that incorporate biological and mechanistic advances to inspire thinking about new approaches to cancer prevention. Attend this conference and learn more about this specific area of research and receive reduced registration rates as a member.

National Surgical Oncologist Day (August 22, 2021) 

August 22, 2021 is National Surgical Oncologist Day. The AACR recognizes that surgeons who specialize in tumor diagnosis, and treatment have played an important role in the global fight against cancer. Doctors and investigators who work in this area are invited to join.
