In Memoriam: Guy G. Chabot

Guy G. Chabot, PhD, a member of the AACR for nearly 30 years, died February 8, 2015, at the age of 66. Chabot was the research director at the Université Paris Descartes in France.

Born Aug. 2, 1948, in Quebec, Canada, Chabot received his doctorate in pharmacology from the Université de Montréal, and then spent five years as an assistant professor in the Oncology Department at Wayne State University in Detroit. He brought his research in pharmacokinetics and metabolism to France in 1988, first working at the Institut Gustave Roussy, then at Hôpital Saint-Louis, before he came to the Université Paris Descartes.

Chabot published more than 80 papers throughout his career, most notably about 5-Aza deoxycytidine, CPT-11, flavonoids, drug metabolism, and delivery systems.

He joined the AACR in 1986 and had been a member of the Chemistry in Cancer Research Working Group and the Tumor Microenvironment Working Group.
