Karim Holloway: A Son, Father, and Brother
His mother, Ebony Hatley, tells her son’s story.
My son, Karim Holloway, died three months ago from bone cancer.
Karim was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, but didn’t have the gene that most patients have when they’re diagnosed. Karim was an amazing son, father of two, and brother.
His cancer was advanced when he was diagnosis, and we never got a chance to test him again to rule out Ewing sarcoma. Karim’s cancer had spread to his heart, lungs, pelvis, liver, and spine.
The oncologists gave him two months to live. Karim was a fighter, and he lived for nearly a year, eight months longer than that prognosis.
Karim made it to his 27th birthday on June 12. He died August 11, 2025.
