Aging And Cancer: Stress And Other Risk Factors Task Force

The Aging and Cancer: Stress and Other Risk Factors Task Force is dedicated to understanding the extrinsic and intrinsic effectors of aging, including stress (e.g., obesity and chronobiology disturbances, social and economic stress, cellular stress, etc.), and their links to cancer. The mission of this group is to provide a platform by which to convene experts in the field to opine on the correlative features versus causative drivers of aging, with an overarching goal of preventing, intercepting, and treating cancer.

Conferences: The Aging and Cancer Task Force convened a special think tank summit, “Stress and Other Risk Factors in Aging and Cancer: An AACR Innovation Summit”, in November 2025 in Pasadena, California. The summit brought together 50 leading experts to explore the complex biological, behavioral, and social factors that shape cancer risk, treatment response, and survivorship across the lifespan.

A perspective article is currently in development and will synthesize the key insights and priorities identified during the summit, with the goal of advancing a more integrated research agenda and informing future efforts at the intersection of aging and cancer.
