For the past 7 years, MICR has been a charity partner for the Philadelphia Sista Strut. This event features a 3K walk with the goal of increasing public awareness about the impact of breast cancer in women of color as well as providing information on community resources. The most recent event was held on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

AACR Cancer Disparities Progress Report 2024
The purpose of this report is to increase public awareness and understanding of cancer health disparities, including the need to increase diversity in clinical trials and the cancer workforce, as well as to provide policy recommendations to address the enormous public health challenge of cancer disparities. The report has been developed by preeminent cancer disparities researchers in the country and builds upon the AACR’s longstanding commitment to reducing cancer disparities through research, education, and policy. The report is the cornerstone of the AACR’s efforts to educate the public about cancer disparities, highlight the importance of biomedical research, and advocate for increased federal funding for the NIH, NCI, and CDC.
