Crystal Mackall, MD, FAACR, is the Ernest and Amelia Gallo Family Professor at Stanford University and Founding Director of the Stanford Center for Cancer Cell Therapy. During her 27-year tenure at the National Cancer Institute and her subsequent work at Stanford, Dr. Mackall has led an internationally recognized translational research program focused on cell therapies for cancer, with a major focus on children’s cancers. Her work has elucidated fundamental principles of human immunology and has translated that knowledge into novel therapies. She has published over 300 manuscripts, is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, a Fellow of the AACR Academy, and a recipient of numerous awards. She has co-founded 3 biotech companies and recognized as one of the top 20 most influential women in biopharma in 2023.
