Fellows of the AACR Academy, Class of 2025

Pioneering researchers and physician-scientists elected to the AACR Academy to celebrate their accomplishments and support the acceleration of progress against cancer.

Thirty-three pioneering cancer scientists have been elected as Fellows of the AACR Academy, recognizing their significant contributions to our understanding, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer.

The Fellows of the AACR Academy serve as a global brain trust of leading experts across the continuum of cancer science and medicine, working to support the mission of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) to prevent and cure all cancers through research, education, communication, collaboration, science policy and advocacy, and funding for cancer research.

“The 2025 class of Fellows of the AACR Academy perfectly exemplifies the pinnacle of scientific innovation and excellence, with their collective scientific contributions fundamentally advancing our understanding of cancer biology and treatment,” said Margaret Foti, PhD, MD (hc), chief executive officer of the AACR.

Established in 2013, the AACR Academy unites the world’s leading cancer researchers to drive progress in oncology. Each year, existing Fellows nominate and elect a distinguished group of individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the field.

The 2025 class includes a diverse array of experts, each playing a key role in shaping modern cancer research. Their work encompasses various areas across pediatric, young adult, and adult populations, including data science, early cancer detection, drug discovery and development, genetics and genomics, hematologic malignancies, immuno-oncology, prevention, population sciences, and tumor biology.

With the addition of this year’s class, the AACR Academy is comprised of a total of 375 Fellows, including 57 Nobel Laureates, all of whom have made significant contributions to our understanding of cancer biology and improvement of patient outcomes. Importantly, the Fellows of the AACR Academy collectively work to enhance knowledge sharing and promote innovative strategies to propel advances in cancer science, ultimately benefiting patients worldwide.

Fellows of the AACR Academy actively participate in AACR programs and initiatives, including regulatory science and policy efforts, educational programs, and international collaborations to support transformative cancer research and medicine.

The induction of the 2025 Class of Fellows of the AACR Academy highlights the AACR’s commitment to leveraging the collective expertise of its more than 58,000 members to accelerate progress in the fight against cancer.
