Event Sponsorship

When you sponsor an American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) event you get brand exposure, expanded marketing reach, and a reputation for supporting a lifesaving cause. There are a variety of AACR events, many of which offer different sponsorship levels so that you can pick the program that suits your budget and goals.

A variety of opportunities are available each year, including:

Philadelphia Marathon Weekend

The AACR Philadelphia Marathon Weekend brings together more than 30,000 runners plus huge crowds cheering them on each year. As the title partner of the Philadelphia Marathon since 2017, the AACR invites corporate sponsors to join us in supporting this event and connecting with the community of both runners and spectators.

AACR Annual Meeting

Every year, the AACR Annual Meeting draws more than 20,000 attendees, including cancer scientists, healthcare professionals, patient advocates, government, and industry representatives. In 2020, we transitioned to a virtual platform in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, 73,000 registrants from 140 countries participated in the two-part AACR Virtual Annual Meeting 2020—making it the largest cancer research conference ever convened. Building on this success, there are a variety of sponsorship opportunities now available for the AACR Virtual Annual Meeting 2021.

AACR Annual Meeting Virtual Fitness Challenge

Held annually in conjunction with the AACR Annual Meeting, participants in the Virtual Fitness Challenge will engage in a variety of wellness activities for the mind, body, and soul and compete with others for the duration of the Annual Meeting. Challenge participants can win prizes and exclusive AACR swag! Sponsorships with broad recognition opportunities are now available for 2021.

Players vs. Cancer Fundraising Events

With the continued rise in popularity of gaming for charity, the first fundraiser through the Players vs. Cancer (PvC) program to benefit the AACR was held in June 2020. In just two days, the event garnered over 200,000 unique views on Twitch. Upcoming online fundraisers will span over a week or even a month, enabling your company to get in front of a multitude of gamers from around the globe.

Scientist ↔ Survivor Program

The AACR patient advocacy program,  Scientist ↔ Survivor Program, builds bridges and unity among the leaders of the scientific, cancer survivor, and patient advocacy communities worldwide. Focused on education and promoting patient engagement in research, virtual events throughout the year provide unique opportunities to connect with patients and advocacy organizations.

Research Grants

Since 1993, the AACR has awarded more than $460 million in grants to more than 800 scientists for research projects that aim to advance the understanding and treatment of cancer. Companies can support researchers domestically and abroad at every stage of their careers, representing a global commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, interception, and cure.
