Dr. Albini is the scientific director of Fondazione MultiMedica Onlus, Milan, Italy, and director of Vascular Biology and Angiogenesis Laboratory at IRCCS (Istituto Di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico) MultiMedica. From 2012 to 2015, she was the director of the Research and Statistics Infrastructure (I-RS) Department and director of Translational Research Laboratory at IRCCS Tecnologie Avanzate e Modelli Assistenziali in Oncologia” – Arcispedale S. Maria Nuova – Reggio Emilia.

Dr. Albini has a PhD in chemistry and trained from 1980 to 1983 as a postdoctoral fellow at Max-Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Martinsried bei Muenchen, Germany. Her research foci include the tumor microenvironment (TME); vascular biology; mechanisms of invasion of tumor and endothelial cells; in vitro and in vivo models for angiogenesis and inflammation; innate immunity, in particular, neutrophils and natural killer cells; cancer prevention and interception, with anti-angiogenesis in a chemopreventive setting; molecular aspects of action of dietary derivatives for chronic-degenerative disease prevention; and cardio-oncology and prevention of cardiovascular toxicity of antineoplastic drugs.
